Football Game Social

To kick off the start of the fall semester, HBSA went to an ASU football game to cheer on the Sun Devils. As the first social this school year, it was a huge success with more than 20 members attending and proudly wearing gold. We hope to continue attending ASU sporting events as a group to increase school spirit within our organization.
Volleyball Game Social

For HBSA’s second social of the semester, a volleyball game was held in the sand volleyball courts at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex field. With 30+ players throughout the 2-hour social, it was an enjoyable event and incredible turnout. We all enjoyed music, met new people, and participated in a friendly volleyball game competition.
Beads of Courage

The Beads of Courage event was our first community service event of the year! Members had the opportunity to make colorful glass beads that were sent to children battling for their life against serious illnesses. The beads are made for children to help them look forward to a better life. And as an acknowledgment of courage during treatment milestones. 12 members dedicated their time to a greater cause and may have even saved lives in the process!
Laser Tag Social

HBSA hosted a Paid Member Social at the American Paintball Coliseum for an evening of Laser Tag! Organized by the Student Relations Director, Kayla Morales, a total of 14 HBSA members attended the Laser Tag Social creating an amazing turnout for the event. Splitting off into teams, the students enjoyed hours of excitement playing against each other before ending the social with dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings.

This semester HBSA hosted our first-ever Hispanic Entrepreneurship Panel organized by Outreach Coordinator, Celina Duran Lozano. The panel was our special event to recognize Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month at ASU. We hosted 3 local entrepreneurs: Brenda Mendez, Edwin Nunez, and Maleny Gomez. Brenda the CFO and co-founder of Snow, the fastest growing online oral care company. Edwin Nunez the CFO of La Carreta de Lily, a well-known antojitos spot that has over 12 locations in Phoenix. Maleny owns her clothing boutique here in Phoenix and also sells her clothing online.
General Member Retreat

This Fall semester, twenty members of the Hispanic Business Students Association traveled to Sedona, Arizona for the Fall 2019 General Member Retreat. Members spent the day hiking the scenic trails of Sedona while building new relationships and connections with one another. On the way back to Tempe, they stopped to eat pizza for dinner and afterwards some ice cream!
Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children is an organization designed to help families all around the world by providing a source of food. 20 members worked diligently to pack food for one hour. This event helped pack over 20,000 meals, feeding a total of 96 kids in the Philippines! We are making a difference in the world with each step that we take.
HBSA's Career Fair

The 40thAnnual Career Fair provided an opportunity for members to network with corporate companies. A few of the companies’ present included Sherwin Williams, ADP, JDA, Farmers Insurance and Northwestern Mutual. HBSA members were able to make meaningful connections with recruiters and learn more about possible careers. A handful of students even walked out with an interview!
